I didn't think I'd ever finish this one. It was inspired shortly after I heard the song "Tempest" by VNV Nation (which was sometime late last year), and sat in various stages of incompleteness for months. I just couldn't get it so I'd like it. Then, recently, I did something and I don't know what it even was and suddenly this thing started going in the direction I wanted it to.

This is meant to be seen as more symbolic of Myrnak's search for Ezra and for the direction that his destiny is meant to take him (events in book two of my veryveryvery incomplete trilogy) than as a realistic interpretation of it.

Aha. Glad you liked it! Shading was actually a lot simpler than it looks. Basically all I did was draw and shade the whole thing in pencil first (Myrnak is on one piece of paper and Ezra's on another just because that's how it worked out; I put this all together in Photoshop later), then I scanned it in to Photoshop, put a new layer set to Multiply overtop, and splashed color around like mad with a brush set to between 40% and 60% opacity (sometimes I used 100%, but only for base colors and things). Kept scribbling until things looked right.

The pencil underneath gave it that grainy texture. Anything that's smooth is just where I went nuts straight in Photoshop with no pencil underneath at all.
